Hi everyone!
I'm Professor Williams, and this is World Civilizations class! If you really like ancient history, then this is the class for you. We'll touch on fascinating civilizations such as:
  • Central/South American civilizations: Aztecs, Mayans, Incas
  • European civilizations: Ancient Greeks, Ancient Romans
  • Middle Eastern civilization: Sumerians

We will not be covering Egypt, as there is a separate Egyptian studies class.

We'll talk about how these civilizations operated from day-to-day, touch on mythology, and eventually talk about their downfalls. A splendid time is guaranteed for all. (Kudos to those of you that got that reference.)

Quick Rules:
  1. I do not accept late homework, unless you have a valid reason for not doing it or missing class.
  2. Interruptions/side conversations will not be tolerated, as they distract other students from learning the material.
  3. You may eat a small snack in class, but only if it doesn't distract other students.
  4. Be respectful of me and other students.
  5. I use the baseball rule: three strikes and you're out (for the day). It will be your responsibility to make up any notes/homework you miss out on due to your dismissal from class.

I like to make lectures fun, so the material isn't drier than saltines.
I can't wait to get to know all of you!
